Summer fun in Reno/Tahoe

The summer months switch off between going by too fast and going by painstakingly slow. With the kids home all day from school it can be a struggle to think up new ways to keep them entertained. ESPECIALLY ways that don’t just include watching TV or playing video games all day long. Therefore, we have put together a list of things to do with kids (or with friends) that will make 2019 one of the best summers yet.

Are the 'Burbs becoming cool again?

Many suburbs around the U.S. are seeing their populations boom as millennials move out of the city and head to the ‘burbs. In fact, Apex, N.C., a suburb of Raleigh, is the fastest-growing suburb in the U.S., according to Realtor.com, earring the nickname “Millennial Mayberry”.


Following several years of urban growth, the suburbs are proving the place to be, as they now account for 14 of the 15 fastest-growing areas in the U.S. with populations of more than 50,000, according to U.S. Census Bureau data.“The back-to-the-city trend has reversed,” William Frey, a demographer at the Brookings Institution, told The Wall Street Journal. Millennials, frankly, aren't the rowdy teenagers that they used to be, and while they may have been priced out of popular big cities, they are now heading to suburbs like Frisco, Texas, Nolensville, Tenn, Lakewood Ranch, Fla, and Scottsdale, Ga, as noted by realtor.com.

Summer Smoothie Recipes

With summer in full swing, it can be hard to eat healthy when there are so many delicious summer foods! Barbecues, s’mores, and ice cream are all just too delicious! So for a quick diet pick-me-up, here are some delicious and nutritious smoothie recipes to try out! 

Babe Ruth Strawberry Pineapple Banana Smoothie:

1 cup Strawberries
1/2 cup Pineapple
1 Banana
2 cups Orange Juice
1/2 cup Greek Yogurt
1 cup Spinach optional
1 Tablespoon Chia or Flaxseeds optional
Ice

Youthful Glow Green Smoothie:

2 Handfuls approximately 2 cups Kale or Power Greens Mix
2 Handfuls approximately 2 cups Baby Spinach
2 cups Pure Apple Juice
1/2 Cucumber
1/2 Lemon squeezed (for extra benefits, use the juice from an entire lemon)
1 Banana
